Bookmark enhancements
#1
I have a piece of music,  Bach's St John's Passion which is 200 pages and the piece has parts (sections) 1-3. I have a scan of the piece into 3 PDFs, one for each part. Part 1 is pages 1 to 56, part 2, 57 to 138 and so on. I have bookmarks in each part referring to the choruses for the choir.

So my problem is that when I look at the bookmarks it tells me the page number within the underlying pdf rather than the page number in the scanned music,  so the bookmark for the first piece in part 2 is at page 1.

It seems to me that it would be quite simple to show the bookmark as the book page number,  by having a page number associated with the pdf that is "starting book page number", so that in my example I would see the first bookmark in part 2 showing page 57, which corresponds to the book page number rather than the pdf page #.

During rehearsals we talk about piece numbersand page numbers and it would be useful to know this.

The other enhancement would be to show all bookmarks in the setlist in the bookmark tab rather than just the ones in the current PDF of the setlist.

At the moment if you want to go to a bookmark in previous piece you have to go to the first bookmark,  the go back two pages,  then the bookmarks for that piece are loaded and shown,.

I'm not sure how to do that in MS and how difficult the implementations to achieve that are. Probably plenty.

It would be the easiest way to combine the three parts to a single one with a good PDF-Editor (e.g. I always recommend PDF X-Change-Editor, fantastic and affordable software). The Bookmarks would be imported and relate to the single PDFs.

(If you can't do something like that or don't have/don't want to get software for that, I can do it for you, if you want).

The bookmarks window already supports one of your requests (check the box at the bottom that says "Show All Songs").

I am going to add a page offset option at some point that may address your other request (a "starting book page number").

Hi Mike

I can't believe I didn't see that option so I went to check and found that the player popup dialog generally covers the bottom of the bookmarks dialog which doesn't appear to be moveable

Thanks heaps.

The player is movable but the bookmarks window is not movable at the moment. I will probably rework some of the overlay stuff at some point to make all the windows movable.
