How about a pretty simple solution: under "Touch Actions", the user can define an action for "set a bookmark with a predefined text". This action would have to work also while in annotation mode and ideally would keep the annotation mode.
If I want to drop a note during a rehearsal or recording, all I would have to do is e.g. a three finger tap to leave a bookmark on the page with a text e.g. "sticky notes 1st rehearsal".
A short visual feedback that the bookmark is written would be a nice luxury.
In fact, when I started using MSP, I was confused that there wasn't a touch action for "add a bookmark", because it seemed to be the most obvious thing for me.
