Different half/full page turns depending on direction
#7
Hi all,
just an update for those that are interested.

So far:
  • BRX suggestion of using a "ring" or similar BT device doesn't really help - FWIW I tried exploring this some months ago and couldn't find an affordable one that I could use - turns out the pedal is the best solution for me.
  • Disappointingly as this would have been ideal, trying to use link points with the pedal has been an exercise in frustration* and I have abandoned it as far too complex to set up and get working properly.  It's far better to:
  • Set the page order to include multiple instance of needed pages, and crop appropriately - takes a little setup time but is ultimately easier and faster to configure than link points when combined with the pedal.  Maybe a 4 switch pedal would solve this but usually I can't look at the pedal and I already get lost with just two  Confused
  • For those times where setting up page order is over the top for a relatively simple piece, setting the debounce to 0 seems to minimise the issue.

I'm still not convinced that having options for half forward and full back (or vice-versa) page turns wouldn't be helpful, but there is now no pressing need on my part for it to be done.

Thanks everyone.

* My primary test piece included DS and To Coda directives where the DS was on the first half of the second page, the Segno was on the first half of the first page, the To Coda was also on the first half of the first page and the Coda was, of course, on the last half of the second page.  I tried to use 2 link points, one from the DS to the Segno and one from the To Coda to the Coda.  No matter which pedal settings I tried to use the link points seemed to take priority over the page turns that needed to happen first.
You're only paranoid if you're wrong  Cool
I'm using an Onyx Boox Tab X, and play low brass: mainly 'Bone and Tuba
